John Thorn

John Thorn is an Australian composer / pianist / songwriter / performer and musical director to the stars. 

He has composed scores for over 40 productions ranging from full-scale musicals to poetry song cycles, cabarets, and comedy shows. His work has been recognised with 15 Melbourne Green Room Awards nominations, winning three including the 2016 Contribution to Cabaret Award.

His works have been presented around Australia at major venues and festivals as well as multiple performances internationally including North American tours and presentations at the Edinburgh Fringe and at prestigious London theatres and cabaret rooms.

When he’s not playing music, he’s doing puzzles, going for long walks in the countryside and perfecting his sourdough.
